In the Market Place

LEMONS DOWN ORANGES SELLING FREELY Oranges are selling freely on the City Markets at firm prices. Lemons were down at to-day’s sales. Bananas are also in demand, and choice repacks are selling well. All lines of dessert pears are now being repacked, ex cooler. Tree tomatoes have dropped in value. There is no change in the sales for apples, with the exception of good quality cookers, which have risen in value slightly. A further shipment of citrus fruit arrived from Australia to-day. A fresh quantity of Cook Island tomatoes is to reach Auckland, ex Wellington, to-day, and it will go on the benches on arrival.
