INTOXICATED MOTORIST FINED
LICENCE TO BE SUSPENDED Press Association MASTERTON, Friday. In the Police Court to-day John Hoffman, of Tinui, was charged with having been in charge of a motor-car on August 12 \v r hile in a state of intoxication. The evidence showed that Hoffman and another man were found on Blairlogie Hill asleep in a car, in which was a case of whisky. The defence was that both Ploffman and the other man had had only two drinks each during the day, and the bottles in the case contained peppermint and cloves, and not whisky. Accused was fined £2O. His licence was suspended until the expiration of the present period, May 31 next, and he was prohibited from taking out another licence for a further 12 months.
