CANADA’S DOUGLAS FIR
PLAN TO HELP EXPORT (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 10.43 a.m. WINNIPEG, Friday. Amendment of the Canadian-Austra-lian trade treaty, to stimulate the export of the Douglas fir to Australia, was suggested on Friday by Senator Carroll before the Canadian Club. He pointed out that Australia was importing £2,000,000 worth of fir from the United States, and only £200,000 worth from Canada. He suggested that Canada in return might take light wines.
