N.Z. Breweries Well Held

A QUIET tone was registered on ’Change this morning. The business recorded, however, was dealt with on a very, ""firm market.

Abraham Williams preference scrip are decidedly firmer and a sale was reported this morning at 90s. New Zealand Insurances are sustained at late high levels, with steady buyers at 44s 6d. Sellers refrained from making a declaration. Renown Collieries continued to attract attention, and further business was recorded last evening. The preference scrip was dealt with at par. In the miscellaneous group, Whittome, Stevensons were dealt with yesterday afternoon on an easier market. More were offered at 49s this morning,

but buyers have temporarily withdrawn. Victoria Nyanza Sugars are very firm with buyers in at 44s and no sellers quoting. New Zealand Breweries are strongly held and buyers’ offers of 52s this morning failed to attract sellers. Business yesterday afternoon. On 'Change; Renown Collieries (ord.), 13s. Reported: Renown Collieries (pref.), 2s 6d; Taranaki Oils, 8s 6d; Whittome, Stevensons, 48s; Waihi Mining, 12s lOd.
