Mr. Joliu Alexander. C.M.G., left for Wellington by tho Limited last evening. Brigadier Tetter, of the Salvation Amoy, was a passenger for Wellington by the Limited last evening. Mr. Henry 11a yward, president of the Fuller- Hayward Theatres, will leave for Sydney next Friday on a business trip. Mr. John Barr, city librarian, who has been visiting England and Scotland. will return to Auckland in three weeks’ time. Mr. J. K. Lowe, district railway engineer. returned this morning from the visit of inspection to Whangarei and the surrounding districts. Mr. L. Mcllvride. general secretary of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants, will visit Auckland during the week-end on business connected with the society. Mr. E. P. Lee, M.P. for Oamaru, who has been prominent in the licensing debate, and was expected to carry the amended Bill on to the third reading, was taken ill when entering the House after the dinner adjournment last evening, and had to be removed to his home. Subsequently it was learned that Mr, Lee’s condition was not serious. Mr. C. E. Bellringer took charge of the Licensing Bill on the second reading. HOTEL REGISTER Cargen.—Mr. J. P.
