the 20 two-year-olds in the correct card for the Avondale Stakes to-morrow, there are several that can be classed as doubtful starters. Alloy, bracketed with Ceremony, may not run; a decision will be arrived at later. Clever is doubtful, having an injured hock, and there is also Awamutu. Morval Tea recently met with a mishap, and Francolin, Roseglow and Rangitoa have not put in an appearance. So that there is every possibility of the two-year-old classic being contested by about 14, which makes the field quite big enough.
