RIDERS
Engagements Made For Saturday McTAVISH HAS SELECT LIST A large number of riding engagements have been announced for tomorrow and Monday’s racing at Avondale. R. Reed will be an absentee, voyaging to Australia to pilot Limerick, and it is quite likely that L. G. Morris and A. McDonald will attend the Napier fixture, probably coming on to ride here on Monday. Outside of this trio the majority of the leading horsemen will be in attendance at Avondale. Those that believe in following one jockey will want to be on the side of R. McTavish, for he has some really good mounts. Not that this method of following a jockey is recommended as a sure way to fame and fortune. Henderson too has some good rides, although ho may not enjoy the extraordinary runs that have come his way the last two winters. The list of engagements announced is as follows: — R.
