REFORM IN MANUKAU
MR. B. BUNN’S NOMINATION A representative meeting of Reform supporters in the Manukau electorate, held at Onehunga last evening, asked Mr. Bertram Bunn to accept nomination as the JReform candidate for the Manukau seat. Mr. Bunn acceded to the request. The Prime Minister is to be asked to give him official endorsement as the Government candidate. Born in North Canterbury 44 years ago, Mr. Bunn engaged in farming at an early age and later was manager of several large estates in different parts of New Zealand. Tie contested the Riccarton seat in 1914 as the official Reform candidate against the Hon. George Witty. Mr. Bunn saw active service in the Great War and on his return engaged in farming in the Auckland Province, later taking up a farm at Kumeu. Borne time ago he announced his intention of contesting the Auckland Suburbs seat but retired when the Government selected Sir James Gunson as the official candidate. Mr. Bunn is manager of the Huapai Fruitgrowers’ business in Auckland. Another meeting will be held next Wednesday at Onehunga. FRANKLIN SEAT UNITED CANDIDATE TO STAND
The provincial organiser of the United Party announces that his party will certainly contest the Franklin seat at the General Elections.
The party is now arranging to secure a candidate.
