NATIONAL JERSEY SALE
DEMAND FOR YOUNG BULLS (From Our Own Correspondent) HAMILTON, Thursday. The sixth annual national Jersey sale was continued at Claudelands to-day, when 93 yearling bulls were sold at an average price of 30gns and 12 yearling heifers at an average price of 25gns. Mervyn Smith, of New South Wales, paid the top price of the day for the yearling bull, Prince’s Rinda, whose sire was the famous Victor's Handsome Prince, an unbeaten champion. The price was 220gns. J. S. Rae, of Taneatua, who was the successful bidder for Oxford’s Dona, another yearling bull by Victor’s Handsome Prince, had to bid to lOlgns. Other bulls to reach good figures were: Lena’s Masterpiece, buyer, W. Campbell (Putaruru), 87gns; Beltane of Oak, W. L. Cator (Waipu), 90gns; Maid’s Defiance of Oak, V. R. Beasley (Victoria Valley), 42gns; Sovictor, A. M. Stickson (Pongakawa), 721gns; Waveney Owler, New/lick Bros. (Patetonga), 46gns; Ku Ku Jack, W. Hazlewood (Northcote), 75gns; Ku Ku Precious Owl, A. Perry (Warkworth), 45gns; Santa Rosa Lilly’s Wonder, E. Sinclair (Cheltenham), SOgns; Santa Rosa Wonder, W. N. Rowe (Waiotahi), 52gns; Santa Rosa Noble, W. Channers (Bay of Plenty), 50gns; Beechlands For Ever, Casey (Edendale), 50gns; Oxford’s Baron, H. Allen (Kihikihi), 53gns; Victor’s Coronation, F. C. Kennedy (Morrinsville), 47Jgns; Hua Brook Belinda, H. Hight (Waitoa), 4Sgns; Hua Brook Marquis, and Hua, Marquis Dictator, G. W. Mexted (Whakatane), 4Sgns each.
