A wide range of loan and agency * purities are sought on a firm market, although the margin between sellers’ and buyers’ ideas of values is mostly 100 great to see much business eventu-
ate. Banners’ Auctioneering ordinaries are slightly firmer, buyers moving up to 555. Buyers of New Zealand Fertilisers are firmer, with buyers improved to Sss 6d, and no sellers. AUCKLAND PRICES EASIER ~B°th dried and salted sheepskins declined sharply in value at the Auckland hides and skin sales yesterday. To maintain prices on a parity with London values, which fell at recent sales from lUs to per cent., dried skins dropped from l 3 d to 2d each, while salted skins were from Is to 2s lower. Hides and calfskins remained firm at late rates, a good demand keeping prices steady. All grades of tallow remained at the same level as at the last sale. The following prices were realised:— Cowhides.—Best grade, light, 10 5-8 d a lb; medium, 10 5-8 d: heavy, 10 5-8 d; second grade, 9Jd to 93d; cut, 75d to 9*d.
