TASMAN FLYERS THANK NEW ZEALAND LETTER TO PRIME MINISTER Press Association WELLINGTON, To-day. Mr. J. G. Coates has received the following letter from SquadronLeader Kingsford Smith and FlightLieutenant Ulm: —"We desire to express to you. and through you, to the Government and people of New Zealand, our very sincere thanks for the warm welcome and many courtesies extended to us during our stay in your country. We particularly appreciate the honour you have conferred upon us in making us guests of the Government during our stay, and also for your courtesy in placing the Air Force machines at our disposal, and free telegraphic facilities. Also, we particularly thank you for the services of Mr. IT. Ardell, ot the Internal Affairs Department, whose presence with us throughout our tour of New Zealand has helped us very considerably. We thank you also, sir. for the sincere manner in which you have expressed appreciation ot outwork. and desire to assure you that , it our flights across the Tasman have done even the smallest thing to fur ther and cement the friendship existing between the Commonwealth of 1 Australia and your Dominion, wo are 1 more than amply repaid. “Your wonderful generosity in granting us the sum of £2,000 is appt\>ciated to the fullest, and we would like | you to know. sir. that grants such as i these, make it possible for us to con i tinue with our self-appointed task of furthering the science of aviation anil i air navigation. We would like to assure you also, sir. that we shall take : great pleasure in informing our Primil Minister and our Government and people of Australia of the wonderful welcome and many courtesies that have been extended to us in New Zealand, and in advance, on their behalf, would assure you that all that has been l done to us here will be greatly apprej ciated by them also. rr!—
