LANDING SITES INSPECTED AIR FORfcE DIRECTOR ARRIVES (From Our Own Correspondent) WANGANUI, To-day. Major T. M. Wilkes, Director o£ Air Services, arrived from Wellington to-day, and in company with the Mayor, city engineer and tramway engineer (who was formerly an airman), visited several sites for the purpose of the Kjngsford Smith party’s landing when returning from Auckland. The racecourse and other big areas were inspected this morning. Everybody is keen to see the intrepid airmen, and are hoping that a suitable landing place can be secured.
