“IF I WERE PRIME MINISTER—”
POLICY SUGGESTIONS INVITED SUN OFFERS £lO FOR BEST REPLY Before many weeks are past the voice of the politician will be echoing throughout the land, and some 200 Parliamentary candidates will be ad vancing reasons why they should be entrusted with the responsibility of making laws for their fellow-citizens to obey. It is common knowledge that thousands of the electors are dissatisfied with the present Administration. On the other hand, any alternative in sight seems to fill many of them with even more serious misgivings. With the object of furnishing political aspirants with a few suggestions and ideas. The Sun oners a prize of £lO for the best reply to the question, “What would I do if I were Prime Minister?” Contributors are free to cover the whole field of politics with their suggestions for administrative, economic, or social reforms and proposals. The only stipulation we make Is that their replies should not exceed 1,000 words. The competition is open from today, and replies will be received up to October 20. Each contributor whose reply Is published will be paid for it, and at the close of the competition the sum of £lO will be paid to the competitor who, in the opinion of the editor of The Sun, has sent in the best.
