SIR ERNEST’S T ASK. —A letter was read from the High Commissioner at the meeting of the Auckland University College Council yesterday stating that Sir Ernest Rutherford, the great New Zealand scientist, had consented to report on applications for the lectureship in physics and to interview the most promising candidates.
