GREAT AVIATION FEAT
TOUR OF FLYING-BOATS ARRIVAL AT SINGAPORE British Official Wireless. Reed. 10.55 a,m. RUGBY, Sunday. The four Royal Air Force flyingboats which left England last October under the command of Wing-Com-mander Cave-Brown-Cave, and have reached Singapore, have thus completed a flight of 23,000 miles. They will now take up their statiou at Singapore. As a demonstration of reliability, the flight will rank as one of the greatest feats in the history of aviation. Throughout the long journey each stage has been accomplished according to prearranged plan, without any serious trouble. The fleet, which on its way from England, made the first aerial coasting of India, reached Singapore in February. After a short stay for overhauling, the flying-boats went on to circumnavigate the Australian continent, and have now returned to Singapore. Throughout the voyage, the crews have generally slept aboard the craft, which in their capacious hulls contain sleeping accommodation and a cooking plant. It is proposed to make further longdistance flights from Singapore to Hong-Kons.
