BUCKLAND POST OFFICE
OPPOSITION TO REMOVAL (Special to TUB SUN) BUCKLAND, To-day. Buckland residents are concerned over the removal of the post office from the Buckland general store to new premises across the railway line. At a meeting of protest on Saturday the opinion was expressed that the new site was most unsuitable. A motion by Messrs. Melville and Piggott, “That this meeting of residents of Buckland is not in favour of the action of the department in moving the post office,” was put and carried by a large majority. Messrs. E. Piggott and A. U. Whitehead then moved: “That the Postmas-ter-General, the chief postmaster at Auckland, and the members of Parliament for Franklin and Raglan be informed that this meeting strongly deplores the fact that the post office has been moved and requests that the office be reinstated in its former position.” The resolution was carried by a large majority.
