Baby Crocodile

PRESENT FOR AUCKLAND ZOO Swimming vigorously in a tub of water on the Sussex this morning was an infant crocodile, which will be offered to the Auckland Zoo by Captain J. J. Frew. The little reptile is a month old and is about lOin. in length. Its parent was shot by the pilot who joined the Sussex at Thursday Island. Since the vessel left . Brisbane the crocodile has been looked after by the ship's cook. He is quite fond of it and hates to admit that, if Auckland does not ivant a crocodile, the infant must be destroyed.
