GIRL CRICKETERS

NEW MOVEMENT IN AUCKLAND Great interest is being shown in a project to form an Auckland Girls’ Cricket Association, to be affiliated with the Auckland Girls’ Athletic Association. For the purpose of forming this secondary body a meeting will be held in the Y.W.C.A. on Wednesday evening next. Already ten teams have been entered, from the following clubs: Y.W.C.A., Grammar Old Girls, Diocesan Old Girls, Ladies’ Hockey Association, Basketball Association, Technical Old Girls. It is confidently anticipated these entries will be greatly increased on Wednesday night. For the purpose of raising funds to take over the hockey grounds, a display will be given on the Civic Square next Friday evening. The Athletic Six are to give an exhibition on the parallel bars, and 300 other girls will “man” the collection boxes.
