Do Eels Have Eyebrows?

Danish Expert Makes Trip to Find Out

WHETHER eels have eyebrows will soon be settled beyond all dispute.

Dr. Schmidt, the world’s greatest authority on these fish, on his arrival in Sydney from Denmark in October will be able to say at a glance, too, whether they have elbows and legs. The doctor (according to the Sydney “Guardian”) is being sent by the Danish Government to study the peculiarities of eels in this part of the world. Big Migration Move

Dr. Schmidt was the first man in the world to discover that eels travel over land from the fresh water rivers to the sea in the spawning season. To celebrate the visit of this distinguished authority the State Fisheries Department of Australia is arranging a migration of eels from Prospect reservoir, on a day to be fixed in October. Experts say that the spectacle of thousands of eels being released to make their way to the ocean will provide a unique and wonderful sight.
