THE HOME DOCTOR

“FIRST AID” LINIMENT FOR LUMBAGO The ingredients required are one raw egg, well beaten, half a pint of vinegar, one ounce of spirits of turpentine, a quarter of an ounce of spirits of wine, and a quarter of an ounce of camphor. Beat all well together, then put in a bottle and shake for ten minutes, after which the liniment should be corked down tightly to exclude the air. It is ready for use in half an hour after bottling, and is a sovereign remedy for lumbago, all kinds of muscular pains, and bites of insects.

For rheumatism in the head a little of the liniment should be well rubbed in at the back of the neck and behind the ears.
