PROGRESSIVE LEAGUE
MEETING AT NORTHCOTE There was a very fair attendance of members at the monthly meeting of the Northcote Women’s Progressive League, held in the Parish Hall on Thursday afternoon and presided over by Mrs. McLaughlin. Mrs. Wood read the monthly report of the Council of Women. It was decided to send a remit to the council protesting against the cash order system, and urging legislation against it. Mrs. Ferner, who was presented by the president with a beautiful bouquet (the work of Miss Tremain), it being her birthday, then gave a very interesting talk on “Child Welfnre/’
