GALE IN NEW SOUTH WALES HEAVY DAMAGE REPORTED SYDNEY, Thursday. Cyclonic storms and gales are raging throughout New South Wales. Severe damage was caused at Nyngan and Bathurst, where great numbers of houses were unroofed and trees and telegraph poles were blown down, greatly interrupting communication. Heavy damage is also reported from other country centres. A Press Association message from Wellington, received last evening, said:— The secretary of the Post and Telegraph Department received the following broadcast from the Sydney radio at 8 p.m. to-day: Special ocean forecast at 3 p.m. for the New South Wales coast— Strong westerly winds to gales, seas rough in some parts. An intense disturbance off the south-east of the continent is moving eastward. Rough weather is expected over the Tasman Sea. Strong westerly winds and gales over the western parts, extending eastward.
