Mr. J. T. Julian, who has been on a business visit to Wellington, returned by the Limited this morning.

Dr. Tracy Inglis left by train for •Wellington last evening. He will return to Auckland to-morrow.

Mr. W. B. Mcllveney, Commissioner 0 £ Police, will arrive in Auckland for a short visit, next Tuesday.

Mr. T. Simson, general manager of the Auckland Farmers’ Freezing Cornpay, Ltd., left last evening by train tor Wellington.

Mr. Aubrey Curry, who for some time lias been on the staff of the Post Office at Hur.tly. has been transferred to Putaruru. Mr. Christianson, from Ohakune, replaces Mr. Curry at Huntly.

Mr. J. C. McCrea, for the past five years chief postmaster at Wellington, will retire on superannuation on September 18. He joined the department in 1885 at Cambridge.—P.A.

Mr. C. L. Pettit, chief clerk in the office of the North Island divisional superintendent of railways at Auckland, has received notice of his transfer on promotion to be chief traincontrol officer in Christchurch,

Lieut.-Colonel C. Hellier Evans, of Dalgety and Co.’s Queensland branch, orrived by the Marama on Tuesday. He will be in Auckland for a few days, and will spend three months in New Zealand.

Mr. C. R. Colquhoun, Australasian manager of the North British and Mercantile Insurance Company, Ltd., and Mrs. Colquhoun, arrived from Wellington this morning by the Limited. They are on a holiday visit to New Zealand irom Australia.
