STOLE HER OWN CHILD
MOTHER BEFORE COURT TOOK GIRL TO SYDNEY Mrs. H. Hall, who removed her seven-year-old daughter from the custody of the State without permission, was convicted and discharged at the Police Oourt this morning. Chief-Detective Hammond said that the child was boarded out in a good home at Avondale. Mrs. Hall had gone to the school where the cb f ld was, and asked to see her little girl. When the girl was brought to the steps, the mother had snatched it up and left in a taxi. She had taken the little girl to Sydney, where she had abandoned it, and returned to New Zealand. In consequence of the child being neglected, the police had been called in again. “It would not be so bad if the child were taken away to a good home,” concluded Mr. Hammond. Mrs. Hall: She was in a good homo when I left her in Sydney.
