AN ELECTION ISSUE?
HARBOUR BRIDGE PROPOSAL MEMBERS TO BE APPROACHED At last evening’s meeting of the general committee of the Auckland Harbour Bridge Association, Mr. S. F. Marks asked the chairman, Mr. E. Aldridge, whether Auckland members of Parliament and candidates for rhe next elections had been approached on the subject of the Harbour Bridge. In reply the secretary, Captain C. E. Ashdowne, said that they had not been approached. Mr. Marks then moved that letters should be sent to candidates .asking them to state whether, in the event of their being returned to Parliament, they would be prepared to support the Harbour Bridge project. After discussion it was decided that a set of questions should be drawn up to be put to candidates at publie meetings. Messrs. Marks, Hopkins, Turner and Eames were appointed to draw up the questions. Finally, after further discussion, it was decided that this committee should work with the propaganda committee on the subject.
