“We desire to thank you, the Government and‘the citizens of New Zealand for your telegram congratulating us,” said the airmen. “If our self-ap-pointed task of demonstrating the safety and qtili.ty of long-distance flights has met with success we are happy. Through us the Prime Minister, the Governor and the people of Australia send greetings, and we carry a letter to you from Mr. Bruce, which we will deliver In Wellington in a few days.” Mr. T.. H. McWilliam has sent the following telegram to Mr. Coates: “My sincere thanks to you, sir, and to the people of New Zealand, for your very kind message of welcome.”
