LEMONS PLENTIFUL AUSTRALIAN FRUIT IN GOOD DEMAND Lemons are plentiful in the City Markets, and good prices remain practically the same as last week’s rates. With the exception of mandarins, which have improved in values, there is little change in the seady inquiry for Australian?fruit. The balance of Island oranges, ex cool store, has been sold, and fresh supplies came to hand this week by the Waipahi. There is a fair demand for all kinds of vegetables. The market is heavily supplied with cabbages and cauliflowers. Poultry to-day was in short supply and high prices ruled. Cockerels maintained their values, and hen prices incre;\ed. Ducks also commanded better attoytion. Day-old chicks were in heavy supplies and met with a good demand. Pigs were penned in large numbers Baconers brought £3 5s to £3 12s; porkers, £2 to £2 ss; slips, 16s to £1 4s; and weaners, 9s to 14s.
