DESERTER FINED £5

“NO MONEY NO WORK” Richard Vousden, alias Cousd en, alias Cameron, who deserted from the British ship Zealandic on May 22, was fined £5 at the Police Court this morning. A representative of the Shaw, Savill and Albion Line said that Vousden, who was a seaman, aged 26, had signed on as a member of the crew in England. The ship was now on her way to Australia. “He has no money or work,” said Sub-Inspector McCarthy, "but he says there is £4 due to him from the company.” Default was fixed at 14 days* imprisk onment.
