THE PLAZA AND TIVOLI

LAURA LA PLANTE THIS EYENING

Laura La Plante, Universal’s delightfully clever, blonde, bedimpled comedienne, will return to the Plaza and Tivoli Theatre this evening in “ her newest comedy success, “Finders Keepers.” This is from Mary Roberts Rinehart’s popular “Saturday Evening Post” story which ran last year and has been made into one of the most delightful comedies of a comedy year. Besides Miss La Plante the cast includes John Harron, Edmund Breese, Arthur Rankin, William Gorman, Eddie Phillips and Joe Mack. Wesley Ruggles directed. 1 It will be remembered that the JJa, Plante-Ruggles combination was responsible for “Beware of Widows” and “Silk Stockings.” “Finders Keepers” is even better. No one can go wrong in seeing this film, as it will provide an evening of the greatest fun. Miss La Plante is beautiful and certainly raises the “Old Ned” when she enters Camp Evans, the training camp which her father commands. Tho boys all fall for her, but she falls for a mere private. It’s not a war story, so don’t worry about that. How many times is the discord of 3, home broken when the stepmother enters? This age-old theme is the basis of the newest Cinema Art release, “Impetuous Youth,” which is the second attraction at both theatres.

Powerfully played* by a big cast of Continental favourites, this film has enjoyed great popularity whenever shown. It is human and compelling. The central figure, a beautiful young girl, becoming incensed at her father’s preference for her stepmother, runs away and finds romance and happiness, and eventual reconciliation, through the medium of a young and successful artist.
