GOOD TAMAHERE TEAM
X> A. McMILLAN, the Tamahere trainer, will again have a serviceable team under his care for the season just opened. He had a good innings last year with Taipare, who developed into a good stayer and placed some fine victories to his credit over two miles. The grey son of Our Thorpe—Uniform earned £1,300 for the season in prize-money. Joy Bird was another useful performer in McMillan’s stable, and the daughter of Our Thorpe—Flora Elmo demonstrated a rare turn of speed toward the end of the session. The mare also gave the impression that she would later on see out a journey, and this year she may be found winning over two-mile courses. The Tamahere enthusiast also won a stake with Scandal and Childe Audubon, while Bingen Starr, with all his speed, failed to make good. In addition to those mentioned Alan will this season have the promising Daytime to carry the black and green livery, and the Nelson Bingen—Olive Wood gelding should help to swell the stake earnings.
