ON PARADE

Fashionable Juveniles In Wanganui Trials DETAILS OF THE ENTRANTS A lot of well-conditioned youngsters, and valuable at that, will line up in the two-year-old parade at Wanganui to-morrow afternoon, between the third and fourth races. Xo less than 32 babies have been entered, which is a record for the event, so that those on the picturesque Wanganui course will have something to look forward to. Probably there will be a few defections at the last minute, but there should be sufficient starters to make three divisions essential. The parade takes the form of a barrier start and a two-furlong sprint to the judge’s box. The heats usually follow each other so quickly that it is at times difficult to arrive at a complete result of each division. No doubt some of those engaged to-morrow will make turf history. And so they should, considering the fact that it would probably take £20,000 to buy the 32 entered. A fair percentage of those engaged are bred in the purple, but it does not necessarily follow that they will prove superior to some of the others. Quite often the reverse is the case. To-morrow’s parade should serve to throw some light on the Debutante Stakes, to be run on the same course on Saturday next. This is the first two-year-old race of the, season, and with absolutely no form to go upon the punters are all at sea . Hence the lively interest displayed in the barrier trials on the opening day of the Wanganui meeting. Aucklanders are peculiarly interested in the parade, for the majority of those engaged claim engagements in the Avondale Stakes and the A.R.C. Welcome Stakes run oil September 22 and October 6,. respectively. The following are the details of the youngsters to be seen out to-morrow with the colours up: Tea Queen (Mrs. E. J.
