LABOUR RETAINS SEAT
N.S.W. STATE ASSEMBLY (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) Reed. 10.55 a.m. SYDNEY, To-day. A by-election to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Mr. Murray, a Labour member of the State Assembly, resulted in a victory for Mr. J. E. Smith (Labour), who defeated Mr. Skelton, a Protestant Labour candidate, by 284 votes.
