Sir Cecil Rodwell, Governor of British Guiana, who preceded Sir Eyre Hutson as Governor of Fiji, has been appointed Governor of Southern Rhodesia, in place of Sir William Chancellor, who is retiring. Mr. T. Simson, general manager of the Auckland Farmers’ Freezing Company. who has been abroad for the last six months, returned by the Klara ma from Sydney yesterday. Mr. Simson has visited the United States, England. Italy and Switzerland. Mr. H. R. Mackenzie, chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board, who is visiting England, will probably leave Vancouver for New Zealand > on the Niagara in November.
