WEDDING BELLS

OLLETT—BEALING St. Enoch's Church was the scene of the picturesque wedding on Saturday afternoon -of Miss Edna Irene Bealing, third daughter of Mr. and the late Mrs. F. J. Healing, of Alexandra Avenue, Mount Albert, to Mr. Edward Ollett, only son of Mrs. and the late Mr. G. Ollett, of Norfolk, England, rue Rev. P. Wainwnght officiated at the church, which was effectively decorated by friends of the bride. Entering on the arm of her father was the bride, wearing a graceful sleeveless frock of deep cream crepe de chine with semi-fitting' corsage, while the frpnt was fashioned in panel effect of finest deep cream silk lace over shell •pink, which widened gradually to the sides at the' hemline. v This also was lightly veiled with the cream crepe de chine and finished with a rhinestone buckle. Her brussels net veil was held in place with a spray *of pearls and orange blossom combined, and formed a lengthy, train. shower bouquet was in shades of deep cream, pale pink and white flowers with trails of ferns, baby satin ribbons and brocaded tulle streamers. In attendance on the bride were Miss Bessie Healing, sister, and Miss Mollye Saunders. The former wore a sleeveless frock of powder blue crepe de chine relieved with dainty touches of silver and pink french embroideries, while on the shoulder was a posy of pink. The latter wore a sleeveless frock of shell pink crepe de chine, the skirt of which was veiled in the same toning georgette with panel effects. Their head-dresses were of blue and pink tulle, and their bouquets were of pink and mauve with touches of deep cream and tulle streamers. Mr. Frank Stanley attended the bridegroom as best man, and Mr. Arthur Bealing, brother of the bride, as groomsman. Following the wedding ceremony was the reception, which was held at the home of the bride's parents, Mrs. H. Monk, sister of the bride, receiving the guests in a frock of navy blue crepe de chine relieved with trimmings of floral tonings. ARMSTRONG—McGOUGAN St. Matthew’s Church, Taneatua, was the scene of a very prettj 7, wedding when Vera Mary, youngest daughter of Mrs. S. McGougan, of Taneatua, was married to Walter E. Armstrong, third son of Mr. and Mrs. F. Armstrong, of Hastings. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. C. Brown. Mr. S. Armstrong and Mr. Keith Armstrong, brothers of the bridegroom, acted as best man and groomsman respectively. The bride was given away by her brother, Mr. H. McGougan. The bride's frock was of ivory satin inset with silk lace. She wore a wreath of orange blossoms and a long tulle veil, and carried a bouquet of camellias, freesias and asparagus. Miss Irene Shepherd, cousin of the bride, was chief bridesmaid, and wore a frock of pink silk crepe de chine. Miss Marjarie Rawson, the other bridesmaid, wore a cornflower blue georgette frock. Both bridesmaids wore black picture hats and carried bouquets of violets and freesias. The church was prettily decorated for the occasion, and after the ceremony the guests, numbering about 60, were entertained at the residence of the bride’s mother. Tho honeymoon will be spent at Hastings and Auckland. AN ENGAGEMENT The engagement is announced of Helen Russell, only daughter of Mrs. E. Bowman, Dominion Road, Auckland, to Arthur Wellesley, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomson, of Brooklyn, Wellington.. The wedding is planned to take place in Sydney, and afterwards the young couple will take up residence in Melbourne.
