RIALTO AND REGENT, EPSOM
“PUBLICITY MADNESS” “Publicity Madness,” an enjoyable picture, starring Edmund Lowe and Lois Moran, will be shown this evening at the Rialto and Regent (Epsom) Theatres. The story to begin with is clever and well worked out. From the time Lowe loses his job with one soap factory and starts out to promote the business of the second with his fantastic publicity ideas, which include a thrilling airplane race, the climax of the picture, it is one series of laughs after another. Lowe as the salesman Pete King, whose ideas are exceeded only by his egotism and supreme nerve, gives a splendid performance. His entrances are a cue for laughter and never, even when he seems in grave danger, does he take life or the situation in wnich he finds himself seriously. Lois Moran steps out of her dainty old-fashioned roles and has her liair bobbed right in the picture to become a most modern stenographer. At the Regent Theatre, Epsom, the picture “A Man’s Past,” is the second attraction. This stars Conrad Veidt, the noted Continental actor.
