McKean, S.M.. who heard the city cases in the Magistrate’s Court. j There was a comparatively large number of cases brought by suburban officers. POLICE PROSECUTIONS For faulty lighting equipment S. F. Faulkrer and G. S. Smith were lined <• i and costs; E. W. Alison, L. A. Bridgens, J. S. Bell, H. Barker, S. J. Carr, j. Chandler (two charges), C. \V. Coulstock, R. D. Carder, H. B. Daniell, A. H. Duk (two charges), F. Howard, H. T. Hunter, G. W. Jackson. M. C. Lundon, A. la. Marwick, A. H. O’Leary, C. W. Payne, C. K. Paltridge, J. w. Quigley* It- Ross, A. Smith, J. L. Seadman, A. Verrall, C. Wiseman, H. C. -\Vren, H. Ward and G. A. IT. Yearn Aver© each lined 10s and costs; M. B. Knott, J. Mounce, T. Majurry and 11. \V. Tindall were ordered to pay costs. Breaches of parking regulations cost K. Colebrook £1 costs; C. S. D. Bullivand, R. Hunt and J. H. Bainbridge 10s and costs. On other charges E. J. Curlett and A. Lewis were fined £2 and costs; 11. j. Bartle was lined £ 1 and costs, and J. I'rifuhart was fined £ 1 and costs on each of three charges; 11. A. Fox and T. Stephens were fined 10s and costs. CITY CASES Failing to obey traffic officers cost W. F. Anderton £ 1 and costs and M. Clark 10s and costs. Fines of £1 and costs were imposed on I>. McDonald, M. Stephenson and j. Neurueter for turning to the right. For dangerous driving J. R. AtcCrystal, who drove along Victoria Avenue at 40 miles an hour, was fined £5 anrl costs; D. V. Bryant, M. A. Lucas, and H. McCaskill were fined £2 10s and costs; T. Cleary was fined £1 10s and costs. On other charges 11. W. Christian was fined £1 and costs; F. W. Laurie was lined 10s and costs: L. Braithwaite was ordered to pay costs. Prosecutions brought by the Waitemata County Council for dangerous driving resulted in fines of £ 2 and costs being imposed on R. W. Baddely and A. Coubrough; £1 10s and costs on W. F. Monteith; £1 and costs ond W. F. Monteith and F. R. Bentley ; 10s and costs on W. E. Insley and A. W. Smith; K. O. L*. Blizard was ordered to pay costs. Newmarket prosecutions resulted in fines of £1 and costs being imposed on F. Butler and A. Titter; 10s and costs nn J. C. Finlay, H. R. Hill and G. Mackiei For riding their bicycles on the footpath in One Tree Hill, G. Cory, C. I). Reardon and J. Shcrriff were fined £ 1 and costs.
