WELLINGTON, To-day, what is claimed to be a world’s record average price for a line of similar size was obtained for 14 Jerseys sold at auction m Wellington yesterday, on account T. S. Cooper, U.S.A. The line averaged 561gns. The animal that attracted most attention was the four-year-old bull, Ostord Beau s Combination, which was formerly the herd sire at ‘‘Linden Grove.” tie was secured by the veteran breeder A E. Watkin, of Takanini, Auckland! at the record price of 2,ooogns. The same breeder also secured the three best caa thlS b j U young heifers at 550gns, 500gns and 42ogns, respectively. The best price lor females was 650gns paid by J. A. Mitchell, of Longburn, for the beautiful three-year-old cow Volunteer s April Lady. The same breeder bought the seven-year-old cow Masterman s Golden Marie, at 575gns. Both thes<* cows have recently calved. F. The remaining bull, Tidy Prince You'll Do was secured by Mrs. \v. Spiers, Levin, at 325gns. The remaining heif*r, Sultana’s Fontaines Comb in a , was purchased by W. J.
