BANANA PRICES HIGH NEW ISLAND ORANGE SUPPLIES On the City Markets, bananas are in short supply, and prices are likely to continue high. Island oranges are being keenly sought after. Fresh supplies will arrive by the Waipahi this afternoon. Another shipment of Australian citrus fruits has reached Auckland. Some of the lines went on the market to-day. The demand for poorman oranges is very dull. Lemons are plentiful, and are slightly easier in values. The demand for local fruit, ex cool store, is steady and unchanged. Heavy supplies of cauliflowers, cabbage and lettuce are on the markets. Cabbage and cauliflower are dull of sale, but there is a keen deman* for root vegetables.
