PAPAKURA AFFAIRS

At the morning service in the Christ Church, Papakura. on Sunday. Archbishop Averill unveiled a tablet to the memory of the late Mr. P. W. M. Holt. In his address the Archbishop spoke of Mr. Holt as a man imbued with a high ideal of service, and as one who had sought both as a citizen and as a churchman to promote the welfare of his fellows.

At last evening’s meeting of the Papakura Town Board, which was presided over by the chairman, Mr. James McCall, it was decided to authorise tlie building of a footpath along the eastern side of the Great South Road from Trantham Road to opposite Coles’ Crescent, at a cost of £■ 140. It was decided to refer the question of the Highways Board subsidy on the reconstruction of the PapakuraHunua highway in the Papakura Town District to the incoming board.
