Navigator Drives to Christchurch in Furniture Van
Press Association CHRISTCHURCH. To-clay. In a state oj exhaustion after being thumped and clapped on the hack by the enthusiastic cro led, Mr. H. A. Litchfield, navigator of the Southern Cross, teas Relieved physically and mentally when the driver of a furniture van offered him a “lift” into the city from the airdrome. Kingsford Smith was speaking from the balcony of the United Service Hotel ichen the van drew up with his navigator. Mr. Litchfield had become separated from the tivo pilots at the airdrome in the crush of the crowd after landing.
