NOTES Mr. and Mrs. G. Wolseley King, of London, arrived by the Marama today to spend some time in New Zealand. Mrs. Mail*, of Takapuna, has returned from a visit to Sydney, where she was the guest of Sir Benjamin and Lady Fuller. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Lamb, of Te Aroha, who have been spending a holiday in Australia, returned to-day by the Marama. Miss Dorothy Griffiths and Miss Leonore Foley, ‘of Auckland, returned by the Aorangi on Sunday, after a short stay in Honolulu. Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Leyland. of Auckland, who have been holiday-mak-ing in Australia, returned by the Mar ama this morning. Mrs. F. L. Boot, of Northcote, left by the Aorangi for Australia with her husband, the Rev. Boot, who has accepted a call to that country. Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin, of Melbourne. with Miss Julia Benjamin, arrived by the Aorangi, and are the guests of Mrs. M. Lichtenstein, of Parnell. Mrs. W. Lennard was the hostess at a gay little dance party at her home in St. Stephen’s Avenue kfst evening. The rooms were attractively decorated with bowls of spring flowers, and arum lilies. A charming gown of powder blue taffeta with a deep hem of silk net embroidered in iris design was worn by Mrs. Lennard to receive her guests. Among those present were: Mrs. R. Actor Honoured Bright Party For Mr. Percy Hutchison MRS. NELLO PORTER ENTERTAINS At her home in Victoria Avenue, Remuera, Mrs. Hello Porter gave a delightful party yesterday afternoon in honour of Mr. Percy Hutchison, of the “Laughing: Optimist Company.” During the afternoon Mr. Hutchison entertained the guests with several enjoyable recitations, an interesting talk on- his London experiences, and some anecdotes in which Princess Mary, his cousin, Sir Charles Wyndham, and other prominent people figured. Miss Christina Ormiston contributed some delightful songs, with Mrs. H. Bloy as her accompanist, and pianoforte solos were given by Mr. Eric Waters. Miss Dorothy Stanward gave two delightful recitations and items were also given by Miss Roach and Mr. Clarke. Mrs. Porter wore a graceful frock of black taffeta, appliqued on the bouffant skirt with floral motifs of rose and pink and blue. She was assisted by Mr. Hello Porter and Miss Joyce Porter, the latter wearing an attractive frock of cyclamen ring velvet with hand-painted panels of a deeper shade. The rooms were charmingly decorated with cyclamen, anemones, arum lilies and daffodils. Among Mrs. Porter’s guests were:—

Gaiety was the keynote and the multi-col-'' oured lighting effects used for the decoration of the ballroom emphasised the dainty frocking of the dancers.
