DISTURBANCE in gaol hollering drunkard (from Our Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, To-day. Described by the police as a “bit f a bruiser" who acted like a lunatic, Sydney Charles Ross obted to solitary confinement in ' -I | n a novel way yesterday afternoon. He battered the walls of his cell with a sanitary can yelling and hollering lustily. In the Police Court to-day Ross was UnM 20s for beins drunk ’ 40s for using “decent language and was ordered to ' . for the damage to the receptacle. 'Senior-Sergeant Sweeney told Mr. F. Platts. S.M., that accused had reneitedly re-entered an hotel bar in defl- ; nc e of the barman’s orders and had Lde himself objectionable. Accused had a formidable list of convictions and *as an undesirable. Ho regarded himself as a bit of a hruiser and was always resisting the police. focused strenuously denied using indecent language and calling the barman “Policeman’s pimp.’’ He pleaded guilty to the other charges.
