Landslide Near Opotiki.—As the result of heavy rains an enormous landslide came down on the coast road a few miles westward from Maraenui. near Opotiki, blocking the road. The i slip is about 120 yards long. Rider Crushed By Horse. —When his horse stumbled, fell and rolled on hiin» Alexander Law, aged 22, employed b. Mr. Oswald Law, a farmer, of Pokuru, received a broken leg. He was taken Ito the Waikato Hospital, where he * j recovering satisfactorily.
