HEENEY STAGES SHIPBOARD DISPLAY

BY way of a variation in the usual round of deck amusements on the Aorangi, Tom Heeney and brother Jack treated the passengers to a sparkling exhibition of boxing during the run to New Zealand. A proper ring was set up and Tom was persuaded to take on all-comers. However, the ■ only man on the Aorangi capable of standing up to the British hope was Jack Heeney. The two clashed vigorously and for a few exciting rounds there were no beg pardons on either side. But by courtesy of Tom honours were allowed to remain even at the close.
