MINING NEWS LUCKY SHOT.—The manager reports: “During the past week work has been confined to the drive north on the footwall dropper from the bottom of No. 2 winze. This drive is now out 15ft and the dropper is 3ft wide. The ore is heavilv mineralised and a few pounds of picked stone have been secured at each breaking down. The gold is much coarser than that found in the main level above on the same dropper. In the meantime, I intend pushing on with' this drive as it has every appearance of opening up a very large block of high grade ore.*’
