Farmers’ Trading Improve
Whittome Stevensons Easier
*TO sales were recorded on ’Change this morning. The market for all the better class securities, however, holds in good tone.
t* UYERS of the Farmers’ Trading * Company ordinaries this morning moved up Is to 7s (Id, with holders asking Ss. The A. preference shares are not quoted. Kaiapoi Woollens are very firm, ex cliv., with steady buyers of the ordinaries at 13s. Sellers of Wellingtons are hard to locate. Buyers of Kauri Timbers have improved to 20s.
Sanfords are attracting more attention, with steady buyers in for the preference issue at par. Whittome Stevensons have an easier tendency, and sellers at 59s 6d are not supported. A decided slackening in the demand for Government stocks and bonds has taken place, although the market for quoted securities is holding fairly steady.
