TIGHTER LIQUOR LAWS
CLAMOUR MADE IN N.S.W. GOVERNMENT SYMPATHETIC (United I'.A. — Telegraph — Copyright) Reed. 10 a.m. SYDNEY, To-day. The first count of votes in the liquoi' referendum has concluded, showing nearly a three-to-one majority against prohibition.
A large number of voters against prohibition are now clamouring for a practical measure of liquor reform and a general tightening up of the control of the traffic, to which demaud the Government is sympathetic.
