The Deputy-Mayor of Auckland (Mr. A. J. Entrican) was first elected a member of the City Council on September 8, 1898; thirty years ago to-day. He was deputy-mayor during the mayoralty of Mr. C. D. Grey and Sir James Gunson and occupies that office at present.
