NINE IN WANGANUI GUINEAS
FIRST DAY’S ACCEPTANCES Press Association. WANGANUI, Friday. Acceptances for the first day of the Wanganui Jockey Club’s spring meeting, to be held on Thursday and Saturday of next week, are as follow: MAIDEN RACE Six furlongs
Magpie Youngsters Mr. Percy Miller reports that a dozen foalings have been recorded at his Kia Ora (New South Wales) stud. All the foals are doing splendidly. Colt foals include those by Magpie from Poitrina, Red Dome and Lady Tressady, and by Spelthorne from Foremost and Chatterbox. Mr. Miller has a wonderful lot of foals by Magpie coming along, and these will be submitted as yearlings next Easter. No doubt Mr. Miller is hopeful that he will top the highwater mark set by him last Easter, when he received 6,750 guineas for a Saltash colt —the record price for a yearling in that country.
