M-G-M has purchased the screen rights of "Willow Walk,” a story of dual identity and regeneration, written by Sinclair Lewis, the author of “Main Street,” “Babbit” and “Elmer Gantry.” Lon Chaney will be starred in the production. * * « Three European successes will be released in 1928-29 by First National: “Dancing Vienna,” with Lya Mara and Ben Lyon; “The Strange Case of Captain Eamper," and "The Ware Case.” Three mystery dramas are scheduled by First National this year: “The Haunted House,” by Owen Davis; “Seven Footprints to Satan,” by A. Merritt; and "Sh! The Octopus,” the play by Ralph Murphy and Donald Gallaher. Two Auckland motion picture men returned during the week from business visits. Mr. R. Shephard, manager for J.C.W.
